GyeongSeong Creature

When a determined woman on a mission to find her mother collides with a self-made man striving to save his empire, where will their intertwining fates lead them?

This drama weaves a tale set in the Joseon period, centered around a self-made man who has built a formidable empire through sheer hard work and the loyalty of a few trusted allies. His world is upended when the police commissioner, embroiled in a personal scandal involving his missing, pregnant mistress, turns to him for help. Despite his own power, he is drawn into the search. His quest intertwines with that of a determined female detective and her father, who have been searching for her missing mother for a decade.

In a twist of fate, they strike a deal: he will aid her in her search if she assists in finding the commissioner's mistress. However, their investigation leads them to a military hospital cloaked in dark secrets. There, they uncover shocking experiments on innocent citizens, resulting in a monstrous creature born of human greed. As they face this abomination, they must decide whether they can destroy it in time to save the people of Joseon, or if their efforts are already too late. Dive into this drama to discover their fate.

My Review….

This drama presents an intriguing fusion of horror, science fiction, and historical genres, offering a conceptually unique viewing experience. The plot, centered around a monstrous creation born from human greed - indestructible and uncontrollable - is both terrifying and fascinating. However, the narrative isn't without its flaws. Despite the strong performances, the leads lacked a convincing chemistry, and their shift from animosity to affection felt contrived and unnecessary.

Additionally, the pacing of the drama often felt slow, with certain elements becoming repetitive. The resolution was particularly unsatisfying, as the mastermind behind the horrific experiments escaped justice, rendering the loss of many innocent lives seemingly pointless.

While this drama marks a commendable attempt in the horror genre, its execution in terms of story development left room for improvement. It might appeal to fans of the lead actors for a one-time watch. However, for avid horror enthusiasts, it may fall short of expectations. Ultimately, whether to stream or skip this drama is a choice I leave to your personal preference
