Can a woman ever come to terms with the reality that outer beauty is superfluous, and true beauty comes from within?
This drama follows the life of a woman who has always been called ugly since she was a child. Eventually, she starts hating her looks and decides to get plastic surgery to become “beautiful”. After the operation, when she visits her new college for the first time, she becomes extremely popular and people start calling her beautiful, which seems to make her think that she was right in thinking that being beautiful is the only way she can thrive in the world. When she meets a boy in college who also knew her in middle school, she tries to keep her distance from him thinking that he would tell everyone the truth about how she looked before. However, the boy sees no difference between the girl he knew before who loved to dance and the girl he sees now. For him, the attraction to her lies in her personality and charm rather than her looks. As they get to know each other more, he makes her realize that she was wrong in thinking that looks are the most important thing in the world and encourages her to love herself for who she is inside.
This is a drama that talks about a very important aspect of our society, which is that outer looks are treated as an essential aspect of a successful person. But, it is not the case in reality. Every single person in the world is uniquely amazing, and we should celebrate their inner beauty rather than being uber focused on external looks which wear off sooner or later. The true personality of a person, however, remains forever true. I enjoyed the drama because the male lead was mature in how he handled situations and managed to make the female lead realize how wrong she actually was in thinking that looks are everything. He builds her up and encourages her to be herself, which I absolutely loved. If you enjoy a story with a meaningful romance in the backdrop of promoting self-love, which leaves you feeling great, then this drama might be your perfect cup of tea!
