Pinocchio
When a woman who can’t lie meets a man who has been wronged by society, left, right and center, will they ever realize that their cat and mouse fights, hide true love?
This drama focuses on the life of a woman who has Pinnochio syndrome and a man who has been wronged by society at every turn. When he was a child, his father is wrongfully blamed for an incident and their family falls apart soon after due to the incessant reporter who hounds his family and spreads misinformation. When he is adopted by a old man who thinks of him as his long lost son, he comes face to face with a woman who is the man’s granddaughter and is of the same age as him. On top of it, she cannot seem to lie. As they grow older, he realizes that his feelings for her might be much more than he thought possible. However, it is soon revealed that she is the estranged daughter of the woman reporter who ruined his life. Now, trying to distance himself on one end and fight for justice for his family, he decides to become a reporter and find out the truth of what happened that night. The rest of the story follows his struggle to remain true to his past and his present.
I loved the story. It had such a depth of emotions that you feel everything the leads feel. Their happiness, their innocence, their pain, their sorrow, you feel it all. I loved the fact that even though the male lead had faced so much hatred from society, he remains soft from the inside. He uses his brain and heart in equal bouts and genuinely cares about people around him, in spite of everything that he has endured. Also, the female lead, though annoyingly oblivious for the most part, is still passionate about what and who she wants to be. Overall, this story was a tale of two people who have been wronged in their own ways and yet decided to be better than their circumstances and rose above it all. Watch it. It’s a delightful watch. I promise!
