Story of Kunning Palace
Given a second shot at life, can she find the happiness she's always longed for and make things right this time?
This story follows the life of a woman who is the empress of her dynasty. However, she seems to be extremely unhappy, alone, and powerless despite wanting to be an empress all her life. During the last moments of her life, as she commits suicide, she prays to god for another chance to make it right again. She comes to suddenly as if this was all a dream and wakes up ten years before her timeline where she was unmarried and her life was much simpler.
Vowing to steer clear of the people who were responsible for her doom, she starts her life this time around trying to undo all the bad she had done before. However, standing in her way is the very man who she feels single handedly led to her doom before. Will her plan of making things right and being happy succeed? Or will his involvement in her life lead to her death again? Watch to find out!
My Review….
This was one of those dramas that makes you think about your life’s choices and how sometimes what we think we want, leads us on the path that may give us everything we wanted, but also takes more from us than we ever thought possible. The plot follows a woman who desperately wants to undo all the mistakes and misdeeds she committed. So, when she gets the chance to relive her life again, she does her best to find happiness. However, all the things she thought she knew about people are questioned, and she is forced to see what she was never able to understand before. I loved this drama not because of the idea of a second chance at life plot but of the depth of the emotions of both leads who would go to any lengths to do what they think is right. Their chemistry was great, and their constant clash was shown beautifully and keeps you hooked throughout. The only off-putting thing for some people might be the presence of multiple male leads who were each a strong pairing for the female lead. So, if you are craving a costume and period drama with a romance that leaves you wanting more, definitely give this one a try.
