The drama focuses on the life of Naksu, a powerful assassin who ends up having to perform soul sorcery to save her life when on a job, she encounters mages. Now, on a run and trying to escape the very people she set out to kill, she ends up meeting a man who is powerless but is determined to learn how to unblock his abilities. When he realizes who she truly is, instead of turning her in, he offers her a deal. If she teaches him how to gain his true abilities, then he would protect her and keep her secret till she regains her powers. Now, embarking on a journey and battling secrets that almost everyone around them is hiding from them, they try to figure out who they truly are and what they truly want from their life.
Frankly, this is quite a unique tale of magic, alchemy, action, and romantic comedy. The characters, their pain, their backgrounds, their difficulties in life, and the way their friendship held them together through tough times were beautifully woven into the fabric of the story. Even though the ending was open-ended and the story will continue in the second season of Alchemy of Souls which releases December 2022, the story was pretty gripping, and it keeps you intrigued throughout. Though at times, I did feel that some situations were dragging on a little bit, but overall it was quite enjoyable. So, if you are someone who enjoys stories with sorcery, soul-shifting and romance, then you will enjoy this one!
