Bulgasal Immortal Souls

When two lives that are entwined for 1000 years, hunt each other down in the name of venegance, will they ever discover the truth and break the cycle, or will it go on for eternity?

This drama focuses on the life of two beings who fight for love, fight for family, and fight to stay alive. For over 1000 years, both of them have ravaged war on each other and hunted each other down in the name of rightful vengeance. Ironically, a lot of people whose lives are woven in their destiny take birth with them in different roles in different lifetimes. This cycle of finding each other, hunting each other down and trying to protect their loved ones, and failing to do so, has continued for a long time. Will their latest life be any different? It has been so long that they themselves don’t remember anything but their last lives. Who is right and who is wrong? Can they ever stop long enough to realize that the only way to end this is to forgive each other and let the past lie?

The drama has quite a complex storyline. Even though it is an incredibly creative plot with great depth of characters, it still suffers from a few logical problems at times. Not all the actions of the characters make sense, but since we often watch a drama to enjoy a story rather than think too much about the reason behind a character’s actions, it isn’t too huge an issue here. Another thing to consider is that all the relationships between characters span various lifetimes, and the roles they are reborn in don’t always make sense.

However, every single actor in the drama has outdone themselves when it comes to acting. They have done justice not just to their characters and the relationships they share over a period of 1000 years, but also lent a hand in making the complex plot seem simple to comprehend. Personally, I watched this drama with very high expectations, and even though the drama had its problems, it also had a few shining points which make it worth watching. I would say give it a try if you are fond of complex supernatural stories that contain characters that may not always make sense, but stay with you long after you finish watching them!

Story Line: 9.5/10

The originality of the plot: The plot is original and it’s a good watch.

Acting of main protagonists: The chemistry between the leads is quite good but ironically it is not clear until quite late in the drama about what their true relationship is, i.e., eternal enemies or lovers?
