Come and Hug Me

When a man who always loses everyone, he cares about due to his serial killer father, meets a woman who sees the good in him, is their love meant to be?

This drama follows the life of a boy who is often beat by his father and bullied at school. When his stepmother figures out that her husband is a serial killer, she runs away with her younger sibling, leaving her stepchild behind. He finds no hope in life in general, but when he meets a rich girl who is a new transfer to his school, their friendship becomes the only ray of sunshine in his bleak life. However, things could never be as they look like. Soon, they are forced to stay apart and gradually both try to move on in their lives. The main lead grows to be police officer so he can protect people and become the opposite of what his father was. During a case, he comes face to face with his childhood love who still cares about him. Fighting to protect her and himself from a new killer in town, can the leads find a way to overcome their problems and stay together?

I find this story both heartfelt and disheartening. Primarily because the pain that the male lead goes through is so raw that you too will be moved in spite of yourself. The story grips you so hard and refuses to let go till the very end. You feel the despair, the sadness, the utter dismay and the only ray of sunshine that the male lead has in his life. You cry for him, you cheer for him, and it feels like you too can’t forgive people who treated him so badly. This was a story that taught me anyone can save anybody, but only if they try to understand others rather than judge them. So, if you are someone who enjoys a plot where the main leads fight for their right to live and love each other, amidst a judgmental society and serial killers in the background, you will love this one.
