The Heavenly Idol

When the high priest of an otherworldly cult exchanges places with a failed idol, will he be able to go back to his world?

This drama follows the life of a high priest who belongs to a cult that believes in the goddess Redlin and fights the devil. However, his life takes a turn when he is somehow teleported into a parallel world where his look-alike is part of a failed K-pop idol group. Trying to survive as an idol is not easy and being a priest who has taken a vow of celibacy, being treated as a sex symbol is even harder for someone like him. Soon, he gets help from an unexpected source, a woman who is a fan of his look-alike. Things get even more complicated when they start falling for each other and the devil enters their lives. Will they be able to get over his mess and stay together? Watch to find out!

Frankly, I thought this drama was intriguing in the beginning. But, I felt that the ending was hurried and odd. Whether the makers suddenly reduced the number of episodes to 12 from 16 or something else happened, this drama felt like such a waste of great talent and story. The plot was hilarious and made you smile so much, but as it moved toward the end, it became nonsensical and senseless. There seemed to be no logic anywhere in the last episode and frankly, they could have done this so much better. I am deeply disappointed by this one. If you watch 11 episodes, I think you will be happy, but the last one ruined it for me. So, I leave the decision up to you about whether you want to give this one a try or not!
