Miss Chun is a Litigator
When a woman decides to take on every challenge to save her father and become a female litigator, will she succeed?
This drama follows the life of a woman whose father is framed for a crime he didn’t commit. Fearing for his life, she decides to represent him in court. However, going against the norms of society prevalent during ancient times is not easy. Being a woman, she is faced with a lot more challenges than she anticipates. But, she persists and tries her best to find out what really happened. Aiding her in her quest is a young upright officer and a military general who happen to be in the city due to a hidden imperial edith. Surprisingly, a rival prince in hiding takes a shine for her as well. Will she be able to save her father and realize her dreams? Or will society manage to curb her dreams? Watch to find out!
This story could have been great if not for a few things. First, the interaction between the male and female lead had the least amount of screen time. Second, the female lead magically solves cases without showing any research on her end as to how she arrived at the conclusion. Third, the people helping her frankly seem to admire her more than what is normal. All of these things kind of take away from the entire point of this story, which was the story of a woman litigator in ancient times. Also, the quality of cases shown was ordinary and nowhere near the level of dramas such as “The Imperial Coroner”, “The Sleuth of Ming Dynasty” and “The League of Nobleman”. Last but not the least, the open-ended ending made this entire story seem pointless. So, if I were you, I will not waste time watching this one in spite of the cast’s great acting skills.
