When a woman decides to step into the field of e-sports, will she be able to prove herself in a male-dominated world?
This drama follows the life of a woman who begins to play e-sports due to her ex-boyfriend but starts to enjoy it. Soon, she falls in love with it and decides to pursue it as a career. However, things are not as easy for her when she realizes that it’s a male-dominated world that does not care much for women. Despite the challenges, she is recruited for one of the best teams in Chinese e-sports. Trying to earn the respect of her captain and her teammates, will she be able to prove herself? Also, finding herself falling for her captain, will she be able to stay true to who she wants to be? Watch to find out.
I enjoyed this story despite my reservations in the beginning. It was a light-hearted tale of romance in the backdrop of competitive e-sports. The male lead was admirable, and the way he and the other male participants gave respect and consideration to their female teammate was quite touching. The one thing I did not like about this story, though, is the fact that even though the female lead was supposed to be strong and focused, she often comes across as dependent and weak. Apart from dumping her ex, I think she doesn’t show much strength in character throughout the story. However, if you ignore this plot aspect and treat this story as a romance between two people who are perfectly suited for each other and support each other, you might just enjoy this one. I will say give this one a try. It’s a fun watch.
